Happy 100th anniversary Komatsu

Today, May 13^th, 2021, Komatsu celebrates a very important date in the history of the company. Exactly a century ago, its founder Meitaro Takeuchi, a man of great humanitarian vision, mobilized by the desire to keep alive a small community located in the Ishikawa prefecture in Japan who had given so much to his former organization Takeuchi Mining Co., decided to found Komatsu Ltd. based on four founding principles:

• focus on quality
• technological innovation
• global expansion

becoming today a first-line company with international scope, gaining the trust of stakeholders.

This new milestone, the centennial, positions Komatsu among Japan’s Shinise companies, a selected group of companies dating back 100 years or more. Thanks to solid founding principles, the organization continues to grow and today has more than 60,000 employees around the world, maintaining a strong focus on industrial products and a tradition of excellence in manufacturing, which has been the basis of its success.

Today Komats begins a new chapter in the next century, and continues writing its history, focused on innovation and technology for the creation of value together with the organization different stakeholders, and thus empower a sustainable future in which people, businesses and the planet thrive together.
