Reliability, adaptability and productivity

PC220LC-8M0

  • Operating weight 24,900 kg (54,900 lb)
  • Net flywheel power (SAE) 164 hp (123 kW) @ 2,000 rpm
  • Bucket capacity (SAE) 1,4 m³ (1,8 yd³) @ 1,5 t/m³

Economy and ecology

The equipment produces low noise levels, provides selectable working modes, issues precaution messages in case of extended idling periods, has an ECO indicator for energy-saving operations, and has a low fuel consumption.

Features

Komatsu monitoring system, KOMTRAX™

The KOMTRAX™ system allows the machine to monitor the status of main components, remotely evaluating their condition and operation. This system was designed to reduce repairing costs and to keep an ideal availability by preventing unscheduled downtimes.

In summary, the clearest advantage of this system is that, by using it appropriately, a proper operation and maintenance can be achieved, maximizing its performance and extending its service life.

Wide and comfortable cab

New cab with ROPS (ISO 12117-2) integrated for a wider and quiet environment for the operator, a comfortable operation due to the new cab damper, an excellent pillar-less ROPS visibility and adjustable armrests with suspension. An air conditioning system with greater capacity and pressurized cab can be optionally installed. It also has a wide 7” LCD TFT multi-colored user-friendly monitor.

Reliability

It has a highly rigid work equipment with a strong frame structure. Its main components were manufactured by Komatsu, has highly reliable electronic devices and has in-line hydraulic filters.

Ecology & Economy - Technology 3

Komatsu, following its Ecology and Economy policy, continues to develop engines with high performance low-emission technologies, complying with the most rigorous environmental standards, such as the new EU Stage 3A and EPA Tier III emission regulations (equivalent).

With this technology, Komatsu introduces its new ECOT-3 engines with total electronic control system; fuel injection (Heavy-duty and high-pressure common rail); exhaust gas recirculation (EGR); air to air aftercooler and a new combustion chamber design; and NOx, PM and fuel consumption reducing systems.
