  • Blade capacity (SAE) Hoja recta: 3,69 m³ (4,83 yd³)

Technology and power

One of the characteristic that stands out is the equipment's extra-low machine profile, which provides excellent balance and low center of gravity. The hydraulic drive radiator cooling fan, automatically controlled, reduces fuel consumption and operating noise levels. And it has a Hydrostatic Steering System (HSS), which provides a smooth, quick and powerful control in different ground conditions.

Features

Palm Command Control System (PCCS)

The new Palm command control system (PCCS) allows a fully operator-controlled operational environment. Its travel-controlling joystick provides a comfortable posture and great control for the operator, reducing fatigue. Gearshifting is performed easily through finger-pressed switches. The second joystick, for blade controlling, uses a PPC (Proportional pressure control) valve, which combined with its highly reliable hydraulic system, results in a clean and precise control.

Automatic lock-up torque converter system

The automatic lockup torque converter allows the equipment to use the engine’s power more efficiently, reduce fuel consumption and have shorter work cycles, which means less operational costs and more productivity. The lockup mechanism transfers engine power directly to the transmission skipping torque converter during normal dozing speed range operations, which reduces power loss by approximately 10%.

Comfortable cab

The equipment’s work environment provides the operator higher comfort levels during long work shifts. Its newly designed ROPS complies to safety operation standards, and its high rigidity and excellent sealing performance reduce noise and vibration levels for the operator, also preventing dust from entering the cab, providing a quiet and comfortable operation. The cab also has viscous mounts for a more comfortable ride, providing a great shock and vibration absorption capacity.

Ecology & Economy - Technology 3

Ecology & economy - Technology 3 (Ecot3). Komatsu, following its Ecology and Economy policy, continues to develop engines with high performance low-emission technologies, complying with the most rigorous environmental standards, such as the new EU Stage 3A and EPA Tier III emission regulations (equivalent). With this technology, Komatsu introduces its new Ecot3 engines with total electronic control system; fuel injection (Heavy-duty and high-pressure common rail); exhaust gas recirculation (EGR); air to air aftercooler and a new combustion chamber design; and NOx, PM and fuel consumption reducing systems.
