Features

Comfortable operation

The cab has an ergonomic environment designed for a comfortable and easy operation with tilt steering column and centralized seat. The noise inside the cab is reduced and a hydro-pneumatic suspension and a rear color monitor (for rear viewing) can be optionally installed.

Easy maintenance

Filters can be accessed from ground level. It has an improved hitch height above the ground, a gull-wing cab and the possibility to add a hydraulic tilt; the equipment has also a reversing fan.

Information and communication technology

The machine has an ECO guidance and indicator, an operational guide for economy operations and reporting, and a monitoring system. The equipment is connected to KOMTRAX and the Payload Meter (PLM) can be optionally installed to it.

Safety

This truck has a Komatsu traction control system (KTCS) incorporated. Provides an all-around visibility: short nose and a wide and balanced view. Has a secondary engine shutdown switch, a battery disconnect switch and hydraulically controlled wet multiple-disc brakes and retarder.

Ecology & Economy - Technology 3

Komatsu, following its Ecology and Economy policy, continues to develop engines with high performance low-emission technologies, complying with the most rigorous environmental standards, such as the new EU Stage 3A and EPA Tier III emission regulations. With this technology, Komatsu introduces its new Ecot3 engines with total electronic control system; fuel injection (Heavy-duty and high-pressure common rail); exhaust gas recirculation (EGR); air to air aftercooler and a new combustion chamber design; and NOx, PM and fuel consumption reducing systems.
