Reliability, stability and strength

WA470-6R

  • Operating weight 22,900 kg (50,490 lb)
  • Net flywheel power (SAE) 272 hp (203 kW) @ 2,000 rpm
  • Bucket capacity (SAE) 4,2 m³ (5,1 yd³) @ 1,6 t/m³

Comfort and power

The machine provides an excellent work environment for the operator thanks to the electronic steering control and the tiltable steering wheel. The cab also has a low-noise design, a big pillar-less ROPS/FOPS, and back hinged easy-access doors.

Features

Variable displacement piston pump and CLSS

The variable displacement piston pump with its Closed-center load Sensing System (CLSS) provides the hydraulic flow demanded by the application or effort performed, reducing hydraulic pressure waste to minimum. Reducing waste improves fuel saving because the engine just produces a specific level of rpm only to satisfy the requirements.

Kickdown switch

The kick down switch is a valuable feature to increase productivity. With just a switch, the operator can shift down when the excavation cycle begins, meaning less wasted time on shifting gears and, therefore, reduced cycle times. Then, the system shifts automatically from F1 to F2 when the traveling control lever is changed to reverse.

Comfortable operation

Low-noise design

Noise at operator's ear level (ISO 6396:2008): 72 dB(A) Dynamic noise level (outside) (ISO 6395:2008): 112 dB(A) The large cab is mounted with Komatsu's unique ROPS/FOPS viscous mounts. The low-noise engine, hydraulically driven fan, and hydraulic pumps are mounted withe rubber cushions, and the cab sealing is improved to provide a quiet, low-vibration, dustproof with pressurizing, and comfortable operating environment. Also, exterior noise is lowest in this class.
