The anime-style short film “Demining Cambodia” from Komatsu’s global brand campaign captured the attention of the international jury and earned the company a Bronze Award at the London International Awards 2025 (LIA) in the category Creative Strategy – Breaking Industry Conventions. The reason? Its innovative approach to telling a purpose-driven story and showcasing how technology can change lives.
Since its launch, “Demining Cambodia” has inspired millions by showing how Komatsu’s equipment and human talent help clear landmines and return land to communities in Cambodia. With a unique visual language—anime—the campaign broke away from traditional industrial communication, emotionally connecting with audiences and reaching over 120 million views worldwide.

The recognition at LIA reaffirms Komatsu’s commitment to being a purpose-driven brand, as part of the global “Gentle Giants” approach, which celebrates the human stories behind innovation. “Our strategic brand efforts are deeply rooted in a genuine commitment to the communities we serve, and it is an honor to support initiatives that make a difference,” said Takuya Imayoshi, President and CEO of Komatsu.
