During the month of September, Komatsu Colombia carried out for the first time the technical skills training program for heavy equipment operators of client Consorcio Ruta 40 with the objective of training female personnel as an added value in Komatsu equipment, strengthening gender employment opportunities in the sector and leveraging Komatsu Colombia’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) program.
The training was led by Jeinner Gómez, Product Support trainer and member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, with the participation of 12 to 15 women from the company who are currently working as heavy equipment operators. Fundamental technical knowledge was imparted on the operation of heavy machinery, highlighting the quality and innovation that is characteristic of Komatsu products.
The personal and professional impact that this experience had on the participants, giving them visibility in this sector and contributing to their personal growth, since the workshop provided them not only with technical skills, but also a dose of confidence and empowerment.

The joint challenge is to promote new skills in women in the area, integrate them and prepare them as a new competitive workforce and thus achieve better operational efficiency”.
