Dear distributors, I am pleased to say that despite all the difficulties we went through during fiscal year 2023, we again had a very good year, during which we were able to continue working on different activities aligned with our medium-term strategy, such as reinforcing training and the introduction of new tools in different territories, continuing to strengthen our portfolio with the launch of new equipment in the region, working together to improve our carbon footprint, promoting inclusion in our allies; among others that led us to continue consolidating the company in Latin America. Perhaps the only aspect that we did not manage to consolidate this year is to keep growing our market share, an issue that I ask you to continue to give high priority.
As some of you are already aware, I am leaving the position of General Manager of Wholesale and Distributor Support of Komatsu Latin America, assuming the leadership of our own operations in Mexico, Colombia and Panama.
I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to express my most sincere gratitude for the constant support and dedication with which we have worked these last 3 years, as well as for the enjoyable collaboration we have had at all times. I believe that we have been able to make great strides as an organization, strengthening the bonds between all of us and adding increasingly more value to our customers, who are ultimately our purpose, making Komatsu a brand whose importance is growing by leaps and bounds. It has been a real pleasure to work with you and we will keep in touch in another role.
Now, Sergio Carrera will take on a new challenge as Vice President Wholesale, DB Support & Technology and I wish him every success for the future in his new position and I know that you will work as a team to continue strengthening One Komatsu. Thank you all.
Patrick Mies
VP Latin America North
Komatsu Latin America
I want to kick off fiscal year 2024 by extending my greetings to all of our distributors and the team that comprise Wholesale, Distributor Support & Technology. I am very eager to assume this role and I would like to begin by expressing my gratitude to you and your teams for the excellent work you have achieved over the last few years, under the leadership of Patrick Mies, to whom I wish the best of success in the new proposed challenges.
My commitment will be to work together with you; to continue to contribute to your success, to that of our distributors, and to that of our Komatsu organization. I am confident in the skills and commitment of each of you, and I am certain that, with hard work, dedication, commitment and collaboration, we will achieve our goals for the new period.
We will have important events, such as Minexpo and our 10th Distributors Meeting in Japan, which we hope will help to further strengthen our customers’ confidence in the brand. In addition, we look forward to sharing all the innovations that Komatsu will bring this year in terms of equipment and services, which will allow us to continue improving in terms of safety, emissions reduction, improvements in production processes and productivity in our customers’ operations.
Therefore, I would like to invite you to continue working in close collaboration with us, focusing on our customers, and to keep us updated through the Marketing News that we prepare as always with much affection for all of you, noting that this edition comes with a new format, created and designed to improve the user’s experience. It also brings interesting topics such as, for example: Formula 1 sponsorship, insights from the point of view of several areas about 2023 and the challenges for fiscal year 2024.
