In June, five trucks HD 785-7 arrived in Colombia. This was the first group of machines to arrive- from a total of 35, for the mine La Francia, which belongs to Colombian Natural Resources (CNR). This purchase was made by Komatsu’s global client EPSA, in the frame of the total acquisition of 100 machines that will be distributed in different branches worldwide.
This way, the first assemble of one of these trucks was made in the installations of the Mine, with the support of specialized technical staff of Product Support- task that finished successfully after 10 days of work.
For Komatsu, these new machines represent a big challenge and compromise to assist and give support to the client in the field, which was demonstrated in this first stage of assembling, where we worked together with the client, training not only Komatsu’s staff, but also EPSA’s staff.
During the second semester, the 30 remaining machines will arrive in Colombia, pre-assembled from Spain. It is important to highlight that trucks HD785-7 are mechanical and have material hopper, a useful load-measuring device and a capacity of 100 tons of loading. Besides, they have less turning radius, use less fuel and have Komatsu’s satellite monitoring system, Komtrax.
