Komatsu Cummins Group rose the respectable amount of 26 positions in Merco’s (Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa, by its initials in Spanish) ranking, landing in the 72nd place among the most responsible companies and with the best corporate governance in Chile. It should be noted that in 2017’s measurement, Komatsu was ranked 98.
For Jaime Uribe, Corporate Affairs Director, this position shows “the good position our Company has in Corporate Governance and Responsibility, which has been acknowledged by the market’s leaders. This is a great proof we are doing things right and is also an encouragement to strive for excellence in these two highly important subjects for us.”
In 2018’s measurement, BCI Bank was awarded again with the first place as Chile’s most responsible company with the best corporate governance. Meanwhile, Colun and Sodimac achieved the second and third position, respectively.
The ranking uses a comprehensive assessment, comparing perception and worth values from eleven different information sources, with reality, which, in this case, are corporate governance and responsibility’s feats.
This measurement specifically considers the opinion of 742 executives, 374 experts from different areas (social responsibility, financial analysts, economy journalists, governmental authorities, ONGs representatives, trade union leaders, and consumer interest groups, among others), and 2,584 citizens.
The analysis and ranking are carried out according to ISO 20252 Standard and ICC/ESOMAR Code of Conduct. Reports collect and comparatively analyze evaluations from the different interest groups about the company, in order to diagnose the dimensions measured. Additionally, this study is audited by KPMG.
Therefore, Komatsu Cummins Group adds a new award for its management, which should encourage all of us to responsibly and sustainably achieve the highest standards in harmony with the community.
