In the frame of an investment program of US$100 million, which is being carried out in the country, Komatsu Chile opened their new facilities in the Tarapacá Region, in the Industrial Park Los Cóndores, in the commune of Alto Hospicio.
In a total surface of 50,000 m2 of land, the infrastructure built exceeds the 6,800 m2 in workshops, warehouses and offices. The objective is to increase the capacity of response of the company in the region, providing products and services needed for the maintenance of the Komatsu equipment that operate in the zone, particularly in the local construction industry and in mine sites, with a technical and professional team of 120 people.
The general manager of Komatsu Chile, Carlos Soto, stated that “these facilities are a new space to give a better service to our customers, a fundamental value of our company, which will allow to have a better integration of all the areas such as Mining, Mining Contracts, Construction, Support and Services, Spare Parts, Rental and General Services.
During the ceremony, the President and CEO of Komatsu Holding South America, Yasushi Sakano, highlighted that “this project contributes to the development of the region and Alto Hospicio, as an important industrial zone in the north of Chile”.
